Mainly landscape work, occasionally interiors, mainly in areas where urban sprawl, industrial architecture, artefacts of infrastructure, retail and recreational spaces, derelict and dysfunctional structures, traces of human presence and activity, and the ever present and often encroaching natural world, meet in strange alliances. Preferred lighting is ordinary daylight.

The project is a follow on of earlier work largely done in square format and/or black and white, and some of these earlier series are/will be included on this site. This may constitute one large series or project. Or possibly may not.

Most pictures are for sale as images for commercial or editorial licensing (mainly from Getty Images) and/or as prints which are sold via reputable art sellers. Click on the query sign for info about each picture.

After some years working in education and as a part-time artist and film-maker (with one award), Robert Brook has worked principally in still photography since 1990. In the early years he exhibited in many group exhibitions including a Serpentine Summer show (1977) and work was bought for various collections including the Contemporary Art Society. He then abandoned personal work for a period to concentrate purely on selling to editorial and commercial markets, adopting a documentary style, and specialising in industry, environmental issues and night photography, only recently returning to a more experimental approach.

Has studied at Derby College of Art, Goldsmiths - University of London, and the Polytechnic of North London
